Who Should Install Your Windows?
How many replacement windows did your handyman install this year? 10? 20? You might assume your remodeling contractor installed a lot of replacement windows. However, most contractors install stock size, new construction style windows that require a different type of installation than a typical replacement window requires.
Window professionals install hundreds of windows per year in different types of houses and in different types of openings. Masonry houses built in the 1930’s are constructed different than stick frame houses built in the 1970’s. The way the windows are measured, ordered and installed are different for each type of house and opening. Our installers have seen it all.
In addition to installing hundreds of windows each year, we also attend manufacturer’s training courses to learn about new products and to stay up to date with the latest installation techniques.
When it’s time for new windows in your home it’s tempting to call the friendly neighborhood handyman or the company who recently remodeled your kitchen. But you might want to take the time to talk with a window professional first. Even the highest quality windows will not perform if not installed properly. To maximize energy efficiency, performance and the lifespan of the new window, proper installation is critical and should be handled by an expert.
